GSA Supporting Safe Return to Play Guidelines

We will continue to update and monitor the COVID Safety Protocols set by our Government, State & Local authorities to keep our players, families and staff safe as we return to play this Fall 2020.  GSA is a USYS sanctioned club that adheres to: STYSA, WDDOA, CAYSA rules and recommendations.

Please read the following GSA Safety Measures put in place to help keep our players, families, referees and staff safe as we return to play:

Coaches & Parents:

  • All coaches (staff and volunteers, home & away) will be required to wear masks while at our Fields including; entering/exiting, coaching, bathrooms and concessions.
  • All spectators will be required to wear face masks  while at our Fields including; entering/exiting, watching games on the sideline, bathrooms and concessions.
  • All coaches (staff and volunteers) will be required to use and disinfect all their equipment after every practice and game.
  • Volunteer coaches will be provided with their own coaches bag consisting of their own bibs and cones.
  • We recommend No Parents on the fields during practice/weeknights training.  Exceptions will be for our U4-U8 Families during weeknight practices.   Parents will need to space themselves a minimum of 6 feet or more from one another.
  • While we recommend 1 spectator/player per game we understand that may not be possible.  Spectators will need to space themselves a minimum of 6 feet or more from one another.
  • To limit capacity on weekends, we will stagger our game times to allow plenty of space for families coming and going.
  • At practice and/or Games (Home/Away) if someone within your team is tested positive, its important to notify your coach along with our administration so we can work together to take the necessary measures to notify everyone that was possibly exposed as quickly as possible.

Game Day Home/Away Sideline:

  • The Home Team will sit on the opposite sideline of the Away Team.  Each team will sit on the same side of their players/coaches while spacing themselves out with a minimal distance of 6 feet from one another.

Bathrooms & Concessions:

  • Bathroom use will be limited to one person only (exception would be a parent/child together) at a time.
  • Bathrooms, Concessions and commonly used areas will be disinfected hourly during our weekend hours and prior/post during our weeknight hours.
  • Weekend Concessions will have 2 different windows along with indicated markers for people waiting in line.
  • All volunteers working concessions will be required to wear a face mask.

General Health Monitoring:

  • Please continue to monitor your players' health closely. If they show any sign of illness do NOT come to practice or games and notify your coach.
  • If you or someone in your family has not been feeling well (fever, cough, diarrhea, sore throat) please stay at home.
  • If you find out your player or someone in your family has been exposed to a Covid - 19 positive patient, please follow state protocols, quarantine for 14 days and notify your coach.
  • If your player or someone in your family has been tested positive, please notify your coach so we can take the necessary precautionary steps recommended by STATE/STYSA guidelines to notify those in your team/cohort.   Currently STYSA states if 3 or more test positive within a cohort than that specific cohort needs to shut down and quarantine for 14days.
  • If you or someone in your family are waiting on results of a Covid-19 test, please stay home until you have received results.
  • If you are not comfortable for your family/player to attend please let your coach know and stay home.

What counts as COVID-19 Exposure?

Public Health Guidance for Community-Related Exposure

GSA Safety Precaution Steps regarding if a player is "Exposed"

  • If a player is Exposed to a COVID-19 Positive Tested person, that player will inform the coach who will inform the team.  The Exposed player will not be allowed to return to play until that player gets tested or follows the CDC recommended quarantine of 14 days before being allowed to return to play.
  • If a player is Exposed and Tested Positive, the player will inform the coach who will inform the team.  The player who tested positive, will quarantine the recommended time of 14 days from being tested before being allowed to return to play.
  • As long as a team does not have 3 or more Positive Cases within their Cohort (Team/Players), all activities including practices and games will resume.
  • If you are uncomfortable with any of the above Safety Guidelines, please talk with your coach and stay at home until you are comfortable returning.
