Coronavirus (COVID-19) Advisory Update to Membership

GSA Supporting Safe Return to Play Guidelines

We will continue to update and monitor the COVID Safety Protocols set by our Government, State & Local authorities to keep our players, families and staff safe as we return to play this Fall 2020.  GSA is a USYS sanctioned club that adheres to: STYSA, WDDOA, CAYSA rules and recommendations.

Please contact Tiffany Roussel our Safety Coordinator with any questions/concerns you may have.

When traveling to play, check FIRST the Safety Mandates for the soccer complex you will be visiting to ensure you are following their COVID-19 protocols.

Coaches & Parents:

  • All coaches (staff and volunteers, home & away) will be recommended to wear masks while at our fields when within 6 feet of others including their players, parents & spectators.
  • All spectators will be recommended to wear masks while at our fields when within 6 feet of others including their players, parents & spectators.
  • Volunteer coaches will be provided with their own coaches bag consisting of their own bibs and cones.
  • While we recommend 1 spectator/player per game we understand that may not be possible.  Spectators will need to space themselves a minimum of 6 feet or more from one another.

Concessions:

  • All volunteers working concessions will be required to wear a face mask.
  • While waiting in line for concessions, please be mindful not to crowd others and keep at least 6 feet of distance between the person in front/behind of you.

General Health Monitoring:

  • Please continue to monitor your players' health closely. If they show any sign of illness do NOT come to practice or games and notify your coach.
  • If you or someone in your family has not been feeling well (fever, cough, diarrhea, sore throat) please stay at home.
  • If you find out your player or someone in your family has been exposed to a COVID positive patient, please follow state protocols, quarantine for 10 days and notify your coach who will notify our GSA Safety Coordinator, Tiffany Roussel.
  • If your player or someone in your family has been tested positive, please notify your coach so we can take the necessary precautionary steps recommended by STATE/STYSA guidelines to notify those in your team/cohort.   Currently STYSA states if 3 or more test positive within a cohort than that specific cohort needs to shut down and quarantine for 10 days.
  • If you or someone in your family are waiting on results of a Covid-19 test, please stay home until you have received results.
  • If you are not comfortable for your family/player to attend please let your coach know and stay home.

GSA Safety Precaution Steps regarding if a player is "Exposed"

  • If a player is Exposed to a COVID-19 Positive Tested person, that player will inform the coach who will inform our safety coordinator.  The Exposed player will not be allowed to return to play until the CDC recommended time of 10 days.
  • If a player is Exposed and Tested Positive, the player will inform the coach who will inform our safety coordinator.  The player who tested positive, will quarantine the recommended time of 10 days before being allowed to return to play.
  • As long as a team does not have 3 or more Positive Cases within their Cohort (Team/Players), all activities including practices and games will resume.
  • If you are uncomfortable with any of the above Safety Guidelines, please talk with your coach and stay at home until you are comfortable returning.
